About

Jorge Garcia (b.1984) is a NYC-based photographer originally from Florida. He is the founder of NYC Street Photography Collective, NYC-SPC, and executive director of Contact Photo, a non-profit organization specializing in lens-based art exhibitions and education in Brooklyn, NY. 

Having spent over 10 years photographing the streets of NYC, Garcia has developed a keen eye for capturing spontaneous, chance opportunities, focusing on candid photography that exudes attitude and draws viewers into the moments he photographs. His photographs are dynamic and energetic, often capturing moments of action.

Garcia has curated numerous exhibitions and zines, showcasing his passion for visual storytelling. His work has been exhibited at home and abroad as well as featured in publications such as NY Mag, Vice, AFAR Magazine, and more, highlighting his versatility and impact in the photography world. Additionally, Jorge has taught street photography workshops in NYC and around the world, sharing his expertise and passion for the craft with aspiring photographers.
